On May 10, British Columbia's Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) held four targeted drawings for immigrant candidates.
Through the BC PNP Tech stream, the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) welcomed 126 skilled workers and overseas graduates with a lowest grade of 85 points.
For in-demand tech employees and overseas students, the BC PNP Tech is a fast-track immigration option. To qualify for the stream, candidates must be registered in one of British Columbia's (BC) current provincial immigration streams and have a valid 12-month work offer in one of 29 approved occupations.
In addition, the province sponsored two drawings for candidates in health-related fields. BC invited 20 health care providers who might be eligible for the Expert - driven, International Graduate, Entry Level, and Semi-Skilled sub-categories. In addition, under the entry-level and semi-skilled sub-category, the province stated it encouraged "fewer than five" nurse aides, orderlies, and care delivery associates to apply. Candidates needed a provincial score of 62 in both of these draws.
A total of 20 early childhood educators were invited to participate in the Skilled Worker and International Graduate sub-categories. In order to be invited, these individuals required to have a score of at least 62.
The stream is currently suspended while the province continues to invite and finalise applications from applicants in the EI-base category. The province is currently examining the program and has stated that applications will be accepted again in July 2022.
B.C. has issued over 3,200 invitations through several BC PNP streams this year so far.
