British Columbia and Manitoba issue invitations to apply for provincial nominee programs

Recent PNP draws resulted in invitations being issued by two provinces.

Candidates have received invitations to apply through the most recent provincial nominee program (PNP) drawings in British Columbia and Manitoba.

With the exception of Quebec and Nunavut, the majority of Canadian provinces and territories run their own PNPs. Interested candidates may receive invitations to apply for provincial nomination through these initiatives. Getting a provincial nomination may help you become a permanent resident.

The immigration policies of Quebec are different from those of Canada and are handled by the province. Only Quebec has authority over immigrants from every economic class.

Each year, 105,000 PR admissions are made through the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP). The annual number of PNP admissions started in 1998 and has been gradually rising ever since. Both the federal government and the provincial government view it as a useful tool for fostering economic growth outside of urban areas.

Candidates from the categories of International Graduates and Skilled Workers, as well as Entry Level and Semi-Skilled candidates from Express Entry, received invitations.

A minimum SIRS score of 105 was required for applicants from the skilled worker and international graduate streams. Candidates who were entry-level and semi-skilled needed a score of 82. Similar to the Express Entry Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS), SIRS only applies to the PNP of British Columbia.

The following occupations were also the subject of invitation rounds from the province.

  • Twenty-eight healthcare professionals from the Skilled Worker, International Graduate, including Express Entry category, with scores of at least 60 points, and
  • 28 early childhood educators and assistants (NOC 4214).
